First and foremost CONGRATULATIONS on your engagement!! If you've stubbled up this website you're probably in the process of looking for your wedding stationery and should hopefully by now know your venue and the date that you'll get to say 'I do'.
I know the whole build up to the wedding can get really confusing, so to make things easier I've pulled together a timeline for when you should aim to get your wedding stationery sent out by.

6 months - Send out Save the Dates
These little cards can pack a big punch and are the very first impression of your wedding that'll set the tone for guests.
You should send your save the dates out at least 6 months (even earlier if your having a destination wedding!) before your wedding date to give your guests plenty of notice incase they need to book time of work etc.
6 months - Order invites
Start to research what wedding stationers you'd like to work with (bear in mind that the best ones will get booked up quickly). Use this time you have to collect samples from your favourite stationers, decide what colour scheme you want for your wedding, this will mean that you'll be able to incorporate your colour scheme into your suites for a cohesive look throughout your wedding from the very start.
2 months - Send invitations out
Nows the time to be sending out your wedding invites (keep in mind that destination weddings should be sent out 3 months in advance to give guests plenty of notice for travel etc)
2 months - Order Day of Stationery
Start ordering all your day of stationery 2 months in advance, this should include things such as ceremony programs, menus, place cards.
1 month - RSVP deadline
You should now be receiving your RSVPs back now for who'll be attending your wedding. This date is mainly driven by your venue/caters depending on when they need the total number of guests attending. With these RSVPs back you'll also be able to crack on and order your seating plan chart!
Up to 3 months post-wedding - Thank you cards
The final piece of stationery to send out is your thank you cards. These should be sent no later than 3 months after the wedding and should go out to everyone who attended the wedding, gift givers who couldn't attend the day and vendors you worked with.
And that pretty much sums everything up for your wedding stationery! Hopefully this has helped you with any questions you had about stationery timelines. If you'd like to discuss any stationery needs you may have then please do get in touch.
